Kiki Alvord, owner and proprietor, opened Swedish Heirlooms in the summer of 2002 on Western Avenue in downtown Seattle. Two years later she relocated to the East Madison Street shopping area. A new opportunity was allowed for her to return to Stockholm in January 2010 where she will continue as an exclusively online presence. Swedish Heirlooms has always presented authentic, hand-crafted Swedish reproductions and antiques of impeccable quality, and continues to do so.
A native Swede, Kiki moved to Seattle in 1982 longing to provide a sense of Swedish lightness, symmetry and calm to interiors. When carefully selecting antiques, her signature style is expressed through a harmonious Gustavian color palette of white, soft grey, yellow and blue. Her selection of pieces is balanced by a knowledgeable, discerning eye for Classical Swedish clean lines and simplified elegance. In addition to antiques, Swedish Heirlooms offers a comprehensive selection of authentic reproduction furniture in the Gustavian and Baroque styles. Each piece is meticulously hand-manufactured by Swedish craftsman in the southern part of Sweden. This graceful furniture is still hand-carved and manufactured in the traditional style by select Swedish family businesses using the highest quality of woods, such as birch, beech, alder and pine. Because each product is made unfinished, we are able to offer an array of traditional Swedish hues and glazes.
We are happy to make arrangements with you for specific modifications, although some limitations may apply.
Thank you for visiting the Swedish Heirlooms Website and we look forward to working with you in the future. If you have any questions, or would like for us to scout for particular pieces, please contact us.
